The next morning begins with a generous breakfast in our winter garden or – in good weather – on our sunny hotel terrace.
Well fortified, you set off to discover the romantic Rhine Valley.

Day Trip: Niederwald, Rüdesheim and Rhine Cruise

You are free to choose your starting point for the day. We especially recommend our neighbouring wine town, Assmannshausen.

From here, take the Assmannshausen chairlift up to the Niederwald. At the top, you will find the idyllic Niederwald wildlife park, where deer can be observed and fed all year round.

A scenic walking path leads you to the mysterious “Magic Cave” – a vaulted passage that takes you through the dark to a stunning viewpoint. Nearby lies the romantic ruins of Rossel, a historic viewing point from 1774 offering spectacular views over the Rhine Valley and the confluence of the Nahe River.

Your route continues to the impressive Niederwald Monument, one of the most famous landmarks of the Rheingau. Enjoy the panoramic view from the Goethe Temple and take a relaxing break at the “Am Niederwald” restaurant.

Refreshed, you then glide down through the vineyards via the cable car to Rüdesheim am Rhein. This famous wine town enchants visitors with its historic streets, wine taverns and the world-famous Drosselgasse.

Your return journey is particularly romantic: a scenic boat trip on the Rhine brings you back to Assmannshausen with the Bingen-Rüdesheim passenger shipping.

Culinary Evening in the Rheingau

If you do not wish to end the day in Assmannshausen – for example in one of the popular herb restaurants – the restaurants and wine taverns in Lorch will also be delighted to welcome you.
After this eventful day, unwind in our winter garden. Wine, beer and soft drinks are available around the clock.

We are a bed and breakfast and offer a generous breakfast buffet. Our local restaurant partners will take care of your dinner. All establishments are within easy walking distance of the hotel. Cancellation of package offers:
Please note, that we're accepting cancellation in a written form free of charge up to 14 days prior to arrival.
Later cancellations or no-shows will be charged with 90% of the agreed package price. Minimum lenght of stay 2-3 nights on weekends (April to October).

Tourism Tax
Since 1 July 2021, the town of Lorch am Rhein has been charging a tourism tax of € 2 per night per person (aged 18 and over) for private leisure stays. This fee is not included in the room rate and will be charged upon arrival.
