When the grapes have been picked and the new wine is bubbling towards perfection in the cellars, when the trees stretch their bare branches into the sky and the animals in the forest come out of cover because they are hungry... then, at the latest, people also shift gears down and put on thick socks.

We're happy to share them with our guests and let you in on a little secret: Anyone who wants to experience the Rheingau without the hustle and bustle and in a completely authentic way, who wants to talk to the people who live here, who wants to for heartwarming things, then come to us now!

The winemakers' small, lovingly arranged Christmas markets open on the weekends and invite you to browse without crowds. The tempting smell of roast goose and game dishes comes from the kitchens of the inns. The Pinot Noir sparkles in the glasses and provides the liquid accompaniment. But a golden yellow, ripe Riesling is also a perfect partner, and many wine lovers want to have heard the angels singing after drinking it.

For outdoor fans:

Here in the Rheingau you can lace up your hiking boots all year round. Even in snow and ice, you don't have to stay indoors. Where there is a will, there is a way!

The roar of the deer can still be heard well into late autumn, and with a bit of luck you can find small, green moss pads or beautiful branches and bushes for winter decorations at home.
